Swallows
Golondrinas
Oil on canvas - Pintura al oleo en lona - 56" X 66"
The San Juan Capistrano Mission is known for its swallows. The legend tells us that every spring, on Saint Joseph's Day, the Swallows return to the mission to rebuild their mud nests and raise their young.
The birds are CLIFF SWALLOWS not the fork tailed BARN SWALLOWS. When the swallows are there, they can be seen constantly flying over the mission catching insects for their young.
